SILVERPEAS natively interfaces with enterprise professional directories, particularly Active Directory.

User accounts are automatically created/modified/deleted. Depending on the chosen settings, all or just a part of the information stored in the directory is displayable in the intranet directory. Delegating authentication to the enterprise directory will simplify your life. You can be reassured,  SILVERPEAS does not duplicate passwords.

The general directory presents all users. For each user, some informations from the profile are directly accessible (function, department, service, phone number(s)…).
You can also easily access to the list of the connected users. Moreover, as the photo is part of the user’s profile, this directory can also serve as a photo directory. The user profile can also be enriched through a customizable form. This way, it’s possible to enter information that is not present in the AD/LDAP enterprise directory.

In this case, this form can be used as a search filter, as follows:

 

User fragments are easily customizable based on information from the directory. Full-text search covers all information in the user’s profile (name, function, site…). It also covers phone numbers and provides a reverse directory.

The directory also allows displaying users limited to a group or workspace. Perfect for offering a directory of a work group, all managed automatically (work group, department, service, communities…).

And within the entire platform, in the WYSIWYG editor, 2 plugins related to the directory allow easy insertion of user names or their ID cards. Readers can thus have direct access to their contact details (always up-to-date).

Directory of external entities (local authorities, unions, companies…)

These contacts who are not necessarily users can be managed within the Contact Directory application. These can be individuals or entities (local authorities, unions, establishments, companies, sites…). Perfectly manage the expected data thanks to the customized form that you link to your directory application.

Configuration

In the general directory, you can display external contacts, themselves managed by a Contact Directory application. To do this, simply activate the General Directory parameter of this application. This way, you feed the general directory from the Contact Directory applications you have deployed. Users and contacts are sorted alphabetically. Full-text search applies indiscriminately to users and contacts.

User fragments are customizable ans contact fragments too.

Display the contact information that seems relevant to you. Clicking on a contact opens their detailed file in a pop-up window.
